      William was in Plymouth by 1632. He was a member of the Separatist church in Leiden, Holland. He was a fustian worker in the Marendorp near Douven around 1610. Later on 15 October 1622 he was listed as a wool-carder living in the Zevenhuysen district and was considered too poor to be taxed.
      William was listed as a freeman in Plymouth, Plymouth, MA in the 1633 lists. He was on the tax lists in 1633 and 1634. In 1638-1640, he was one of the men who repaired the herring weir in town . At his death, his inventory , including real-estate, was a total of £12 17s.

       John Holmes was known to be in Plymouth, before 16 October 1632. He bought a house and six acres of land from William Palmer. He was admitted into the freedom of the Plymouth colony on 1 January 164. John Holmes is mentioned in the Plymouth Colony Records vol.. XII p. 19. To have indentured William Spooner on 27 March 1637, and transferred Spooner’s indenture to 1 July 1637. He was messenger of the Government on 4 December 1638. He served as summons server, jailer, and executioner.

     Probate record for the estate of John Holmes: [1: 347: OS Docket #10,466 contain the agreement/settlement.] The agreement for settlement of the estate of John Holmes, late of Plymouth, dated 29 September 1700, was made to John Holmes of Plymouth in ye County of Plymouth in New England, eldest son, who was to pay a yearly sum to the widow, Patience Holmes, for life as her dower, and make full payment to each of the said children [of the deceased], that is to say: to Nathaniel, Ebenezer, Thomas, Joseph, and Desire, wife of John Churchill, who were of age to sign for themselves and to Richard, Patience, Mehitable, Sarah and George, who were minors. The agreement was signed on 29 September 1701 by the mark of Patience Holmes for herself and her minor children, the mark of George Bonum, Jr. in behalf of Richard, Thomas Holmes, Nathaniel Holmes, Joseph Holmes, tand he mark of Desire Churchill, John Churchill and John Holmes.

        Thomas Lucas was first in Plymouth Colony records on 27 June 1650 in a list of townsmen. He is not found in the court records before that. He is found in the Plymouth Colony Court Orders 3 February 1656. He was listed 25 times and 16 of the were for drunkenness. “He even presented himself in Court distempered with drinke and reviled the magistrates.” The first time they were very lenient but later he was publicly whipped, put in the stocks, finally sentenced to prison for 24 hours. “He was also presented 'for abusing his children and wife to her danger' and placed under bonds for good behavior.” On 1 June 1675 records show: “Thomas Lucas for being distempered with drinke, it being soe oftens, and that hee hath borne severall pticular punishments gradually, and can not be reclaimed, it was ordered concerning him, that all that sell drinke be stricktly ordered and prohibited to lett him have none” (Plymouth Col. Court Orders 5: 169). At the Court held 8 Mar 1678/9: “The sixt day of January, 1678, being warned upon a jury to view the body of Thomas Lucase, of Plymouth, deceased, and to make inquiry how hee came by his end, wee, whose names are under written, find it as followeth: hee being very ancient & decriped in his limbes and it being very cold, and haveing drunk some drinke, gott a violent fall into a ditch, in a very dangerous place, could not recover himselfe, but bruised his body, and lying all night in the cold, soe hee came by his end” (Plymouth Col, Court Orders 6: 7-8).
      Thomas was a blacksmith by trade and there are not mention to the name of his wife. It is assumed he was married about 1655. In the settlement of his estate she was living and it was settled in 1679.

"From the settlement of the estate, 'the widow shall have free use of the housing and lands until her sones come of age, and then her thirds of the benefits during her natural life and the sume of L38 of movables ... and use of the whole until the children come to their respective ages or marriages; Benonie, the eldest son, the house and half the garden plott, halfe the barn, three acrees meaddow and grant of four acrees excepting his mother's thirds and the sum of L11.6 in personal estate; Mary Lucas and Bethya Lucas each L12 and Mehitable Lucas L10.”
