He was made freeman on 4 June 1650 and was admitted on 5 June 1651. On 20 October 1652 he bought from Nathaniel Masterson, ten acres of upland lying at Wellingsley (Plymouth, MA). He is called a Planter in the deed. According to the Ancient Landmarks of Plymouth, p. 331, it is thought his home may have been located where the home of Thomas Sears and Amos Leshure stood.
