      The Plymouth records first find John Finney there in 1630, with his mother, brother- Robert, and sister- Catherine. The story is that his father died while crossing the sea. The family is believed to be from Wales. John lived first in Plymouth where his two sons by his first wife were born. Next he moved to Barnstable, Barnstable, MA and the next seven of his children were born there. Later he moved to Bristol, Bristol, RI.
